Coventry's Christmas Cracker - Win Trips to New York, Paris and Rome!

What's more we also gave one lucky child the opportunity to switch on the Christmas Lights on Sunday 18 November through another competition being promoted through Coventry Telegraph and Touch FM.  Our lucky winner received a specially designed "Switch on" commemorative award and a Nintendo 3DS courtesy of West Orchards Shopping Centre.

The festivities started on Sunday 18 November, when Coventry 's Christmas Lights were switched on amid performances of dance, pantomime, street theatre, children's characters including Sid and Scrat from Ice Age, Titan the Robot, a spectacular Christmas show, Debbie Isitt and the children from Nativity 2 and seventies legend Roy Wood singing "I wish it could be Christmas everyday!".

Our hosts Touch FM, along with special guests Father Christmas, the Lord Mayor of Coventry Cllr Tim Sawdon, our "Shining Star" winner Pagan Pittaway and Roy Wood switched on the Christmas lights at 6.00pm.

The festivities will continue right through until 28 December with an International Market, Fools Paradise Christmas Show, School nativity plays and a purpose built ice rink in Broadgate's fantastic event's space.
